A NOTE TO THE READER

Disclaimer

Educational, not clinical

Love What Happens publishes essays, quotations, and reflections on Stoic philosophy. Its content is offered for general education and personal reflection. It is not a substitute for medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, or any other professional advice. If you are unwell, struggling with your mental health, or in crisis, please contact a qualified clinician or your local emergency services.

Stoic practice has overlap with cognitive-behavioural therapy and is used by some clinicians as one tool among many. It is not, on its own, a treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, or any other condition. Reading philosophy is no replacement for care.

Translations and sources

Quotations from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Epictetus, and other ancient writers appear in a variety of translations — sometimes in established editions, sometimes in light modernisations for readability. Where a phrasing departs from a standard translation, this is noted in the text where possible. The originals are public domain; modern translators of the editions cited are credited where applicable.

Errors and corrections

Love What Happens is the work of a small team and an evolving study. Errors of fact, attribution, or translation are likely. If you spot one, please write — corrections are welcomed and incorporated.

Affiliate links and recommendations

The reading list and resources pages may include links to books and other materials. Where applicable, these are presented purely as suggestions; the site does not guarantee any outcome from the use of these resources. If any link in future becomes a paid affiliate link, that arrangement will be disclosed at the point of recommendation.

Privacy

The site uses standard analytics to understand how readers find and use it; no individually identifying information is collected for marketing purposes. If a newsletter or contact form is added in future, its data handling will be described in a separate privacy notice at the point of signup.

Use of this content

Original writing on Love What Happens — essays, commentary, glossary, this disclaimer — is published for personal reading and study. Quoting short passages with attribution is welcome. For longer reproduction or commercial use, please get in touch first.
